Break

It’s time for me to take a break, to remove writing, thinking and researching from my list of things to do.  As much as I enjoy it I have to narrow the field of my responsibilities.  I’ll be back soon.

  1. Great idea but why not do a fast while you’re at it – either a juice fast that you can do on your own (perhaps accompanied by some colon cleansing) or a short water fast that you could also do on your own or a longer water fast that you could do at the TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, CA. It seems like you’ve been sort of going around in circles with different diets without really solving your underlying issues or losing weight or getting into great health. Why not try a different, more basic, more fundamental approach?

  2. Hi Martin – I don’t do well with fasts. I have blood sugar regulation issues, and ignoring hunger just doesn’t work for me – it’s physically painful, and I’m just not well when I’ve tried it. I’ve literally never been able to do a fast for more than 12 hours. Juice would cause further glucose dysregulation. It’s not really true that I’ve been going round and round – I wonder if maybe you haven’t read much of this blog? I’ve made significant progress this year, solving some of my major issues (diabetes, depression). I just hit a stressful spot in my life in June due to moving to a new home and some existential issues about my career. Thanks for stopping in and commenting and I hope you’ll do it again. I know this blog isn’t very search-friendly. It’s hard to know what I’ve done, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what progress I’ve made. If you base your opinion on what I’ve written in the last 2 weeks I can see why you think I’m flailing around. Have a good day!
